When did you get your degrees? Fine institutions.

As for my earlier comments, I thought you were implying that you'd never read any of Gilder's reports. Some of the picks you mentioned were caught up in the spring bubble -- lots and lots of Gilder and non-Gilder stocks peaked in February, March and April of this year and still have not recovered. Yes, you have pointed out the worst ones on Gilder's page 8 (so far), most of which he picked earlier this year, during the excesses of the Nasdaq bubble. I could easily, however, counter your list of Gilder duds (so far) with GLW, QCOM, BRCM, JDSU, SUNW, AMCC, TXN, CIEN and NT, all of which are up between roughly 600% (NT) and 4,000% (BRCM) since he added them to the newsletter. The man is very, very good at identifying emerging communications and networking technologies and the companies that pioneer them. His record on page 8 speaks for itself. Intelligent readers know these things take more than a few months to play out, and anyone who expects GG or anyone else to be infallible shouldn't be playing the market in the first place. I know of no other "stock picker" with anything close to GG's record, and, as a "layman" with expertise not in EE or optics, but in corporate finance and m&a, I find his reports fascinating. Reasonable minds can differ on these things. I, for one, would be very grateful if you could lead me to another technology writer / stock picker who you feel "gets it", since you appear to believe that GG does not. Respectfully, k maxwell.
