Ken, I think you need to do some DD on this before believing a TV ad. SS is currently running a surplus. Bush's plan would take less than 20% of current payments and tuck them into personal accounts for each contributor. He leaves more than enough in the trust to fund current obligations. Future recipients get the benefit of a better return on their "investment". The plan not only makes sense, but may be the only thing that will save SS long term.
