Rambus Was A Mistake, Says Intel’s Barrett...
LindyBill has taught many of us a great deal. He's taught us thru his experience, thru his gut instinct; he's taught thru his success, and thru his missteps.
One thing he always has said....."don't invest in a company which is so dependent on a another company's whims"....ie, Rambus dependent on Intel.
Rambus may yet be successful, because its memory solution may obtain widespread adoption in numerous applications, ie STBs, PC's, workstations, Playstation II and its genre, networking equipment, DVD?, High-Definition TV, etc.
Nevertheless, we should give Lindy his due.....he stated a year ago the potential pitfalls associated with the Rambus/Intel Big Brother relationship, and it is very clear that Intel's implementation of that relationship has been littered with glitches.
Interested in UncleWest's interpretation of Barrett's comments, or that of Tinkershaw, or Tom Warren.
