Paul, it is quite amusing how the BEARS and BULLs alternately emerge on this thread according to whether or not we see green or red for the day. Maybe everyone ought to concede that they don't have a clue where we are headed. There seems to be a lot of hope that the bottom has been reached. However, now that earnings will soon be behind us the market will turn its attention to economic news or some other issue(middle east, euro, elections, etc.) to get all wrapped around the axle about. It is always something. It seems the market can never be content not worrying about something lately -- it is very neurotic and starting to make traders on the threads that way too. Oh well, we are at 3418 which is a long way from 4200 that was in place at the beginning of Sept(23% more to go). Someone said it well the other day "The market will do its best to fool and disappoint the maximum number of traders". It certainly has done a good job of it so far unless it was your day to be a BEAR or BULL when the market was down or up. I for one will not try to predict the coming weeks. It just seems that slower growth is ahead of us and the market will have to adjust to it. Maybe it will ignore the warnings for the time being and fly then die. The volume yesterday and today was impressive. Friday will be interesting. Care to make any predictions on tomorrow? There will probably be some profit taking sometime tomorrow I would guess.
