...it should cost nothing... --- "It" should cost whatever the market would bear. That's a decreasing dollar value when it comes to software. --- My Osborne came with a dollar value of software, equal to or greater than price of the machine. Can they do that nowadays? No. The value add couldn't *possibly be that high anymore. People want 'The Internet'. It costs $15 or $20 mo. --- BTW, Item: Intel drops Rambus. Craig Barrett says, "In retrospect it was a mistake to be dependent on a third party that guides your performance". You think Intel isn't looking at MS and thinking the same thing? You think with all the pressure on component costs right now (like memory), Dell isn't looking at the OS line item and saying "that's too much"? -JCJ
