They do it every day. Gold has been declining for how long? Have there been no new gold mines? Have no proven deposits been acquired for future development. Didn't Cameco just spend $500 million to commission McArthur River in a declining uranium market? On and on and on. I have no clue what a ceteris paribus is but my argument is that mining companies are run by miners, not economists or fortune tellers. Their sole reason for existence is to pull metals out of the ground. If they go broke in the process they have an auction, file the necessary paperwork, and life goes on. Granted, most of them would be better off if they had become Internet Service Providers a long time ago but they didn't, they aren't, and they won't. Reality.
