strongly identify with Nader and his efforts to take on big business
About 1989 or '90 Forbes magazine did an expose on that little rat turd. They clearly identified him as little more than a shill for the trial bar. Nader threatened suit. Forbes responded with another article detailing the seamy sources of his considerable personal fortune. To my recollection, Nader crawled back under the rock from which he slithered for a couple of years. I think we owe a debt of gratitude to Forbes for that too brief respite.
Big business -- corporations, including the dreaded multi-nationals, are the reason so many of us live well. They are the aggregations of capital that provide the stuff we not only want, but need.
The Boss and I drive a couple of cars manufactured by multi-national corporations. The fuel and lubricants necessary for us to get around are supplied by... guess who! Same for the trucks, ships, planes, and RR's that make it possible for us to get groceries and a few other goodies year-round.
A while back I had an operation that saved my bacon. Absent the wealth created by business, the Drs. who perfected the procedures necessary wouldn't have had the option to pursue their evolved talents.
St. Ralphie is in fact a pimp for the trial lawyers, not coincidentally the same who so avidly support the DemocRATS. Given reign, his kind would slaughter the geese laying the golden eggs. And they would replace them with....????
When corporations have consumers as boss, they are our milk cows. There is a problem with business acquiring coercive powers through the political process, witness, for example, ADM. That is not the problem these slimeballs are addressing. In fact, they seek to make it worse. |
