According to this theory (beloved of SF writers everywhere) every action that has more than one possible outcome actually has all those outcomes. Imagine you're driving down the road and have to decide whether to turn left or right. In the ordinary world, you turn left and that's it. But in the quantum world, when you reach the decision point, two new universes are spawned. The only difference is that in one universe you turned left, and in the other one you turned right.
