Here's a quote from Mr. Bush yesterday in which he praises Bob Kerry. The other day, I heard a Republican compare Bush to Kennedy. The Republican Party has become like the courtiers to the king who had no clothes. They dress him up in their fantasies and delusions, but, increasingly, the public will see that there is no there there. Even if he is elected, God forbid, he will increasingly polarize the country by alienating virtually everyone with any scrap of independent intellect.

Here's the remark by Bush about Kerry, a man who is now on record saying Bush is an incompetent:

After Attacks, Bush Strikes Back Hard in Defense of
His Social Security Proposal

By ALISON MITCHELL

To give his advocacy of private accounts the sheen of bipartisanship, Mr. Bush
invoked two Democratic senators who favor such an approach — Daniel Patrick
Moynihan of New York and Bob Kerrey of Nebraska. Both men are leaving
Congress at the end of this session.
