Gene, I agree with your post, except I don't really see what hope there is for Rambus in the DRDRAM sense on the P3 front. I guess Intel could cut prices on the 840 chipset and/or produce a cheap 840 mobo; the 840 seems to work pretty well. Then, there's this 870 stuff that Tenchusatsu is working on that might be adaptable. There's also the DRDRAM channel on the Almador, which might actually allow the whole thing to be reconfigured as an RDRAM main memory chipset, though that seems improbable.

If you assume DDR is going to fail as PC memory, DRDRAM might come back, but that's a pretty big assumption. You also got to assume that Barrett's comments don't mean anything. If you put odds on all these assumptions, Rambus looks best on the legal front.
