I'm not sure everybody WILL want to keep their PC up 24X7. That will certainly be different from the way it's done now. If nothing else, I think noiseless PC's will need to become readily available (and that alone might require HD-free "thin" designs), particularly for folks, e.g., who have their PC's in their dorm rooms, etc.

I have installed the evaluation copy of Win2K Jordan sent me, and some of what I've posted here has actually been done via that OS. There remain some issues, particularly with respect to support of my monitor, that he has kindly offered to help me with. At this point I have what I consider a minimally functional system, with none of my applications software installed (except what comes with the OS, of course). I haven't decided yet whether to buy a copy.
