This is too obvious. The problem is how thay got their numbers. The reason why the stock moved up (some 20% since) is that people thought that MSFT was doomed slightly because of the DOJ, but more because its software is not selling well. The pricture was different this quarter. It's much easier to play with earnings (EPS, ...) than with sales (we sold an "x" amount of goods).

I did here something about MSFT, I think that it doesn't include the full impact of emplyee options/benefits. This is a problem in many techs, but this company has big impact. I don't remember all the details so let's put this paragraph on the back-burner.
