Revenue Canada takes the view that if you are "trading" rather than "investing" you will have all your "capital gains" reclassified as income which would be taxed at over 50% Wow! I wonder why they don't follow the simple litmus test here--if you hold it less than one year, it's like ordinary income. Maybe they just didn't think there were enough $400-per-hour accountants in Canada. I guess I'll hold off submitting my visa application to them.
