The growth rate will certainly slow down because of digital photography, but it will take years before we significant drop in consumption, if ever.

Silver, Silver!? We don't need no stinking silver!

Ho,ho Claude....hang around my photo lab one day and see the panic on the faces of the reps that come here peddling light sensitive materials. All I've talked about with my clients for five years is how are they going to manage the transition to pure digital.

I doubt the Chinese and Indians will get into the digital technology... it is still far too expensive.

The cost is dropping at an unbelieveable rate, what cost 10 grand last year is now $1200. I have a digital printer that sold for $26k new that I got a year later for 4k. A year later now an archival Epson now sells for $800 that can beat the quality and the cost in consumables of that dye sub printer.

The question isn't if, it's when.....it's far sooner than you can imagine.
