Divisional results
Network Access Division, (Spin Co) produced record revenues of $180.2 million in the fourth fiscal quarter, up 70 percent year-over-year, with strong growth across its WAN transport, broadband access and multi-service access product lines. Record revenues of $579.2 million for the full fiscal year were 109 percent above revenues of $277.6 million for fiscal 1999.
Digital Infotainment, Personal Imaging, Wireless Communications and Personal Computing divisions, in aggregate, achieved revenues of $381.3 million in the fourth fiscal quarter, an increase of 10 percent year-over-year. Annual revenues for these divisions totaled $1.5 billion, up 31 percent from the previous year.
Digital Infotainment achieved record revenues of $79.5 million in the fourth fiscal quarter, up 48 percent year-over-year, driven by solid demand for media processing and broadband communications products, which included nearly 250,000 CableLabs-certified cable modem solutions shipped during the quarter. Division revenues in fiscal 2000 of $290.8 million were up 58 percent from revenues of $183.5 million in fiscal 1999.
Personal Imaging posted revenues of $32.9 million for the quarter, up 18 percent over last year's like-period revenues of $27.9 million, driven by seasonal demand for fax modems and increased penetration of the multi-function peripheral market with higher speed modem solutions. Personal Imaging revenues totaled $119.8 million for the full year, up 33 percent from fiscal 1999 revenues of $89.9 million.
Wireless Communications generated revenues of $99.3 million for the fourth fiscal quarter, up 5 percent year-over-year. While significant weakness continued in the code division multiple access (CDMA) market in Korea, the division grew revenues in global system for mobile communications (GSM) and time division multiple access (TDMA) power amplifiers, and increased shipments of GSM system solutions. Wireless revenues for fiscal 2000 were $390.8 million, compared to $266.6 million in fiscal 1999, an improvement of 47 percent.
Personal Computing delivered revenues of $169.6 million for the fourth fiscal quarter, essentially flat on a year-over-year basis. Despite challenging market conditions in the personal computer market, the division gained traction in digital subscriber line (DSL) broadband communications, home networking and embedded solutions for Internet access appliances. Revenues for fiscal 2000 were $722.9 million, an improvement of 15 percent over fiscal 1999 revenues of $626.5 million. |
