So is anyone here a Christian, or is this the right place for trashing God?

Nobody here has trashed God yet. There seems to be a very human tendency to have a reverence for the mysterious universe which is our womb, as we keep busy in our various ant hills and ant trails.

As the thread intro states, however, this is proven to be a place that is rather hot for Christians; Perhaps, not so hot as the hell fire to which many of us have willingly determined to be tortured, rather than submit to a system of thought that would doom the human race to extinction. Yet, hot enough to circulate blood through the brain. Science and superstition cannot hold hands and yet escape from the extinction that has visited other species. It is like a three legged race with the middle legs cut off.

There are many threads for people to praise their special knowledge, the special knowledge which dismisses the beliefs of most of mankind, and ignore their Gods and their reverence. This is certainly not one of them.

The representations of God that have been put together by ancient nomads is very insulting and derogatory to the divine. Many of us find the bible to be one of the most obscene and vicious guidebooks ever written. I challenge anybody on this planet to show me a book that has more injustice, more racism, more misogyny, more innocent bloodshed, more sexual perversion, more infanticide, and so forth. I will be happy to go through the bible chapter by chapter, and pose the question: Is this what you believe is good and right? Is this what you want your children to believe is fair, decent, above board, rational and divine?? People that merely wish to sing hosannah's, may, of course, do that here too; but for that there are no marshmallows or group hugs.
