Nokia Buys Rest of Brazilian NGI

Nokia has completed its purchase of the remaining 49 percent stake in Brazilian mobile phone joint venture NG
Industrial held by Gradiente Telecom SA for $415 million.

Nokia said Friday the deal gives it all of the shares in NG Industrial, the Manaus-based mobile phone manufacturing joint venture of Nokia and Gradiente.

Established in 1997, NGI makes mobile phones under Nokia and Gradiente brands for sale primarily in Brazil.

Nokia, the world's biggest mobile phone maker, employs 3,000 people in South America.
