Hi Lab - in a way, VARL, togehter with my other investment failures [I admit it: VARL is not the worst of my failure in the investment dept :),] has taught me obsessing things happened yesterday is meaningless. If I kept rehashing the past, it could only make me confused and I ended up losing confidence in me. Instead of blaming others, I am going to use this experience to 1) be more diligence with my [LT] investments and 2) augment FA with TA. Had I used TA to figure out something was not kosher, I could ve warned myself [and others.] I did not and I paid the price.
I don't mean to defend Mr Pappas, since I don't know him. Worst case is that one could see him profiting from other people's misfortune. However, one got to admit, some of us here have put him in a damn-if-you-do and damn-if-you-don't situation. He is a suspect if he says nothing and he is a suspect if he says something. Since he has VARL where he wants it anyway, I don't see anything sinister about making periodic stmt. I mean, while it is no big deal spending $250 every other week for a PR, he has no utilitarian reason to do so. Small investors like us are unlikely able to cost his job. I would venture to guess some people have wanted him to say something periodically. I don't know if it is of value, but he is trying to hold some investor's hands. At least some investors may see VARL has a pulse. So, I infer [my fault] that saying he is saying nothing of substance [it might very well be true to some people] means he should shut up. That is what I thought of a dim view.
It is fair to say no long is happy about the situation, and I certainly don't want to see us turning on one another amongst us. We are in the same boat.
Anyway, I ve spoken my peace :) so I will not speak another word until there is *substantive* development [I will also let you folks know if I elect to reject VARL from my portfolio.]
have a great weekend
best, Bosco |
