Actually the trade balances are also of concern to me as well. At some distant point in the future, 2011 maybe, our high stock prices will be held mostly in the hands of people who only have the faith and credit of the U.S. Gov't. to support their stock values. If that government is having trouble paying it's primarily elderly citizens and the lack of dividends starts these people selling assets, then there is a long way to fall. The foreigner's won't be wanting to hold the bag either. Our only hope is that no emergent economy looks safer than ours.

I see some very disturbingly optimistic thinking out there. When the last and greatest fool, John Q. Public, gets his last dime out his pocket and buys stocks with his Social Security dollars, THAT is the top of the market. For a long, long time.
