The entity responsible for the demise of LU is none other than the CEO. He had no vision, no understanding of the technology revolution and did not even understand what the main competitor Cisco was saying.

Instead he listened to the customer who are short sighted and that allowed Nortel and Cisco to eat Lu's lunch. The
CEO of Lu finally woke up and to deflect blame, he is firing many upper managers in order to save his hide.
