One interesting note , the longest peace known by any peoples of the earth was in the country/place known as Tibet.
They were a fierce warlike people , settled in the middle of the spice routes into China, India and from the west....Fierce Horse~warrriors they were,
until Buddhism was adopted in their
country over 800yrs ago.
Interesting also to note ,that the teachings of Buddha
spread farther and faster than any other teachings of a Prophet known since ...and they spread without , death, destruction , war and killing.
In fact they ( the teachings and Monks) brought peace wherever they settled.
The country of Tibet holds the longest record of continuous peace in recorded human history AD of any land, over 750yrs running...
... almost 500 more years than the country of Switzerland that escaped much of the most brutal violent upheavals in Christian Europe, and has been known to remain neutral thru many conflicts.
Of course 250,000 innocent Swiss people did die one year , when one Christian army went thru on its way to Christian Germany to reek havoc, and left them completely stripped of food to face a winter of starvation...what was that called ?
The 100 years war?
Have you any idea the kind of suffering, torture, death and wars that have been fought in the name of your God? Christian to Christian and brought horrible death to every continent on the earth?
Interesting also to note , that probably but for the Persian/Arab empire to the east , acting as a wall to invading
barbarians from the Caucausis and Urals....Christian Europe may have been over-run many times over centuries ago.
Funny thing providence, isn't it?
It's all this preaching and quoting by the blind from their holy pulpits , about
their God and his wraths ...that my God & Prophet is greater, mightier and holier than yours, is the cause of much that perpetuates the ignorance, over and over again.
Though words can be brought up that seem so gentle too, but
what is at the center has too often been death , not life.
I read much between the lines in what Shalom posts from the Scripture here that has the some scent of the divine....but thereis an overwhelming majority of it , that is full of pride and exclusion , condemnation and exactly what leads
to actual wars and secret hatreds, jealousies and strife.
No one body of people own the rights to God.
Only in their own manufactured illusion, for myself i would love Jesus , and ignore their interpretations and use of his words.
To say that the fastest growing religion (Islam) in the world is a farce and their holy places and beliefs are a joke.....well you know or possibly might guess the rest of that story? Jesus taught love and tolerance and a blameless life ? But Islam has much to answer for too...for it also
has a Bloody history, to be sure. And that needs redressing , the same as Christians have much to redress.
One has never heard the cry of "War in the Name of Buddha", not once down thru the last 25 centuries. One has heard it in the name of Christ many times.
And Mahatma Gandhi defeated one the most powerful European
nations on the Earth, thru non-violence.
Never ceases to amaze me how "Christians " can fail to grasp
the deeds they have done in the name of God and Savior in this world , yet find time to condemn others for their cherished beliefs.
In reality though, much and all that is good comes from within...if Jesus is to return, he will return in your hearts . You have been shown the way , but do not choose to see. It is from the standpoint of your own unfoldment and discipline, and living with right thoughts and speech and work , that what is divine reveals itself, to yourself.
When I read the posts of Shalom, it is the saddest thing in the world to me. Sad to see how so many are thinking they are the only ones being saved , when even their own first commandment from God , they haven't been able to keep , ever since the prophet left centuries ago.
Words from the Holy books do not change the history , nor will ever change a word of reality written upon time itself. |
