I wasn't suggesting that you were advocating religion in school. I was just asserting it was unnecessary to cure the evils you are correct in identifying.

A different kind of harm is done in religious schools, IMO. I had a girlfriend who really could not reconcile her feelings with the dogma that she was getting in her Catholic training. I think it ruined her life, leading to some totally irrational actions on her part that caused her great bodily and psychological harm.

Her life might have been very different had she not been so screwed up by the insanity that, IMO, was caused by her Catholicism. I really don't think she would have been less traumatized by a gun shot wound inflicted by a fellow student. I say that honestly and sincerely, believing it to be true.

Many people shake this insanity and come to what I deem is a rational solution to the directives of the Pope. Basically, ignore him on matters of sexuality because he knows not of what he speaks. She wasn't able to do that.
