I don't agree with your inference here. I use an obvious screen name and no e-mail address by choice. And I don't see that it has anything to do with trust. Here's why...

Not using one's real name can cut both ways. It allows the dishonest to exaggerate their dishonesty. But the reverse is also applicable, in that the honest, by not using their real names, can exaggerate their honesty without fear of repercussions. So I don't see that you can necessarily conclude anything from the use, or nonuse, of a screen name.

I think that possibly the greatest potential for evil comes from those with fake real names, as opposed to those using obvious screen names.
