They don't. SDLI is not in the S&P and therefore those index funds will have no SDLI positions. When the merger closes...and the S&P is reweighted (assuming JDSU doesn't crash in the meantime), its weighting should indeed increase. With non-index funds, of course, its an entirely different story. FWIW

Perhaps someone can do the numbers in terms of what percentage the combined company will represent and how many shares they'll have to add when the merger is complete.

I wouldn't mind another "Perfect Storm" scenario. :)
