It is clear that institutional investors (and the analyst Herd), have given up on the semi-equips. If this thread is representative of retail investor sentiment, then retail investors have not yet given up on the stocks. In spite of the fact that, in the last 3 downturns, AMAT hit a P/S of 0.9, 0.9, and 2.2, I still get responses saying, "no one on this thread thinks AMAT will ever hit a P/S of 3 again". There is (still) air underneath these stocks (and a bright longterm future).
