It ain't pretty, is it...

My guess is it got punished not only by the general market decline but on fears that businesses will be defaulting on debt at higher levels in the future (on rumors of junk bond defaults circulating around the big investment banks). I don't know if this has merit or not...is anyone familiar with the diversification of their lending portfolio?

From a technical point of view, on point and figure, FNV hit the bottom of its trading range at 3.50, meaning it's 100% oversold at these levels. Stochastics confirm this and the candlestick chart is showing some good support at 3.50.

But I think the buyout scenario remains probable...the financial industry is continuing to consolidate and FNV seems like it is still well positioned, unless the underlying business is really that weak, or is weakening.

From the web site it shows the Q3 earnings release date of Nov. 14th...a post on clearstation said it was delayed three weeks. This is either really good news or really bad news for those of us long FNV....anyone have any insight?

Right now the dividend is its saving grace, with a yield of over 15%...the question is, what are the risks of it being cut? Or of FNV going BK?

Other thoughts?
