Here is the problem I have with Motley Fool

1. they do hatchet jobs on companies not on their "Fool" list. Prime example Tom Jacobs of Fool - 6 or 7 weeks ago when he basically trashed Myraid Genetics - in essence said it was virtually worthless - not unlike the "bevy" of hundreds of other biotech startups. Well the market disagrees Mr. Jacobs. Myraid (while perhaps operating in thin air currently) - is one of the hottest stocks on Wall Street - one simply needed to buy it cheap last April. Fool missed that stock of course.

2. comparing internets to biotechs is complete nonsense, many of which has been in business for decades. 95% of the internets, particularly etail were complete junk, this is not a big secret - and the handwriting was on the wall last fall -when some of the junkiest etails on the planet were IPO'd.

3. Lets assume biotechs will have a big pullback in yr 2001 -because of all the earnings or lack of earnings disappointment. Then what about these hyped up Gilder style optic companies. Will they collapse first? I subscribe to Gilder and follow him closeley but these optics companies are generally probably riper than biotechs for a collapse. The real deals on optics were last fall or summer of 1999 - not this summer.

4. Apparently Fool is conceding that for those of us holding all cash beyond 5 yrs out - biotechs will come back in any case.

5. I am very tired of Fool's obtuse and cutesy presentation style. Nice if at some point they stopped hiding behind all their nonsense, and just made some straight forward comments

6. Fool has been late to the game on most biotechs, and now wants to rewrite the rules to their own benefit
