I was pleased with yesterday's earnings. When I had prevously talked to investors relation, they told me that they were going to be within a 10% range of $78M projected by Montgomery Security. I thought they were going to report sales for this last quarter $70.8 million (that would be the low-end of the 10% variance), however, I was pleased to see the number at $73 million. Considering that they didn't ship the 3.5 Champion drives till the end of the quarter, and the 3.0 drives till May, I'm supprise they did as well as they did. I also noticed JTS built up their inventory by $9 million to $30 million. This seems that they are anticipating demand. Accounts Receivables went up $9 million to $28 million. Cash still at $13 million. They still haven't touched the recent $55 million credit line. I was impressed that they were able to receive $55 million without further dilution. JTS took its first baby steps yesterday. Oh by the way, even though they fell a little short on sales, the did meet First Call of (.11). Management at least took some steps to lower cost. Next quarter will be a crucial quarter. If they are better than the (.03) loss for next quarter, this stock will start to receive more support (my opinion). Has anyone noticed that JTS has been in the top 10 in sales volume for Amex for the past month? Although many are selling, many are buying. There is much hope ahead. Next quarter will be the key.
