They do, but it is called an election!<g> More seriously, the nightly tracking polls need about 700 people to have a margin of error of about 3-4%. That would be an average of only about 14 people per state with larger states having more and smaller states having less. You can imagine what the margin of error in each state would be. Therefore they have to do individual polls within each state of 600 or 700 people to get a valid result or a national tracking poll of over 35,000 people a night to have a valid national poll that could be broken down by state. Does this make any sense?
