Well, yeah. It's the Luther argument. Reason is a barrier to Faith and to God. The irony is (and I have been going through Luther material since he was discused on this thread), that Luther had a brilliant mind and wit, but his faith premises caused terrible inconsistencies in the philosophy of a loving God.

People that deny their own mind can, of course, believe in anything. They have no way of placing a value on their thoughts and beliefs. An empty mind cannot choose a value. It can only follow. Whether it follows a Hitler or a Heidi--well, first come first served...
