Vivus giveth... Vivus taketh away... Friday October 20, 5:36 pm Eastern Time Vivus withdraws new drug application for Alibra MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Pharmaceutical company Vivus Inc. (NasdaqNM:VVUS - news) said on Friday it withdrew its new drug application for Alibra, a treatment for erectile dysfunction. VIVUS said it will meet with the Food and Drug Administration to determine what additional data is required to obtain marketing clearance for the urethral microsuppository product. It said it also plans to meet with the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products to discuss its pending European application. It said it will determine future plans for Ariba after these meetings, which are expected to occur soon.
