I think you're leaving out the smell test once folks get into the ballot box. I think, deep down, when it comes to the moment of casting the ballot, voters are not gonna wanna the son of a lip-reader in the presidency. Also, Gore is less likely to do harm to America's domestic and international policy and voters will sense this in the booth. I just don't think they'll risk switching into an unproven candidate and an unproven candidate's policies which the unproven candidate, himself, has difficulty describing, advocating and defending. Fact is Bush is relying on typical Republican smear, that of painting Gore as a "liar." Ultimately, it won't work.
