Thank God for Sunday afternoons>>>.. it just seems I can do more thinking when I'm not at work or being tossed to and fro.
Here is what I'm thinking !! I get so caught up in the ramblings on that RB board I forget where the world I'm going.

Some recent news headlines are NTT the Japanese Company buying Verio. WCOM is buying ICIX, primarily because of DIGX the web hoster. Then last we have EXDS just bought Global Crossings web hoster. In addition to the web hosting services, they derive much of their revenue from 'managed services'. All of these transactions were multi billion dollar transactions.
But look at the time frame that the acquirees have been operating on , 5 to 7 years !. Many started out in different areas and migrated to the hosting arena. The point is that very long term trends are in place.

Go back, in space and time 5 to 7 years and then time warp these companies back that far and then compare the embryo of TSIS to these acquirees' embryos at the same stage and what you see are all similar protuberances.

Is it surprising that TSIS is hiring avr software technicians at a rapid pace. It tells you that the software that SPWX and NUAN are developing are anything but simple to use. Is it , for example, that my 9 year old daughter can zip through a Print Artist program designing headers and drawing original art , fluidly, while my wife and I struggle with the simpliest tasks.

There is a prevalent fear that someone out there will design an AVR program so simple to use that you will plug into a 110 volt outlet, the phone line goes in and poof, instant services. Nothing could be possible further from the truth.

It's not that TSIS will be a major player or a minor player, the point is that we will be and are a player. If we just keep focused and keep our nose to the plow the horse or the engine that will pull us forward is the growing demand for AVR hosting. If we keep the plow blades sharp, if we have plow operators ready and waiting, I promise you , I promise you , that some big,, well fed,, oxen and horses will hook up to our plows and pull us out onto the fertile fields of avr hosting. At that point the main problems will be to decide who is operating the darn plow and we had better keep control of the horses.........gregor
