Jeff, Re: cash No, I actually am long AMD. Just trying to better understand why the market ascribes a P/E of 8 to AMD. I don’t claim to know much about the PC business, but there are many people here who do. Obviously it is the fear of PIV and just Intel in general. I read the posts of people who post here (people who I greatly respect), but yet I'm just not quite convinced that AMD is just fine. Jerry made the comment about being relatively uncrushable a couple of quarters ago and I believe it is true, but I take that to mean they can’t grind them into bankruptcy. The new FAB isn't the only reason AMD is building cash IMO; it is also an insurance policy in the event Intel decides to not allow AMD the additional market share. I don’t want to hold AMD if they are operating at breakeven status and I doubt you do either. I think AMD is one of the few tech companies that isn’t terribly overvalued, but I've been around long enough to know that their fortunes could decline again; they could also soar too if the PIV is a failure. AMD is terribly undervalued. The P4 doesn't have to be a complete failure for AMD to do just fine... Hint: Intel's market cap is 290B. AMD's is 7B. AMD has between 15 and 20% of the market. But how is 'building cash' an insurance policy? Also, I'm not sure the decision is Intel's on whether to 'allow' AMD additional market share or not... Doug
