Whoa! Although the article was misleadingly datelined, "Austin," all those things took place in other jurisdictions, mostly Democrat-controlled, and while Clinton/Gore ran the White House (with Lewinsky's assistance under the counter, so to speak). If you are in any way, shape, or form suggesting that Clinton has considered himself to be bound by any policy set by Richard Nixon, you might be partying just a little too hard.
Now, I'm open-minded and receptive to solutions to the drug problem, but most concerned about the civil liberties and constitutional rights part of the argument. You know what? I think Bush might pleasantly surprise you in this area, partly because of his own alleged personal experiences <g>, and partly because he's known to be a consensus-builder, whereas Gore comes out blindly and wildly swinging against everybody who disagrees with him. |
