GST, let's be reasonable:

1. The US imports more energy from Canada than from any other country.
2. We also get a lot of energy from Mexico, and Mexico is not an OPEC member.
3. The head of OPEC is from venezuela, and venezuela will never go along with an embargo.
4. The US has shifted much of its energy consumption from oil to nat gas since the 1970s.
5. Saudi Arabia probably cares less about Israeli-Palestinean tension than getting the $$ from its oil exports, which it very much needs.
