Funny you should ask since GE is one of my larger holdings.

I'm not sure about the first part but Welch staying is a definite plus. Even the competition like United Technologies speak of the man with reverence.
That will probably help the stock tomorrow baring other disasters.
OTOH, I don't know what the buyout will do for the stock price. Depends if it's perceived as a good buy or they paid too much. Typically it weakens the buyers stock as you know.
