VL was positive on all of the listed companies. Each one had its own caveats. 3Com and Palm (if I remember correctly!) were not given a "timeliness" rating due to the spinoff. SNDK was rated very high (1).

The commentary, of course, is the best part of the analysis. Overall, VL was positive on the future trends of each company.

To be honest, I use VL more to review the "debt/cash/profit margins/cash flow/etc" issues. I find that VL will often times give a "1" for timeliness and then say the company has limited profit potential for the next 3-5 year period. This type of analysis is of no use to me. It is pure garbabe to say it's a great time to buy (1) the stock and then say it has limited profit potential for an investor (and this happens on an all too frequent basis).

I want a company with a pristine balance sheet, excellent product lines, and excellent management teams (don't we all!). VL provides a good format to review the balance sheet issues on a quarterly basis.
