hmm. is it better for the teacher (who i am presuming is telling the truth here) to tell the class he loves teaching (i am presuming this is a lie) or to tell the class the truth that he needed something to do to make some money. how many dentists couldn't get into med school, how many people chose pharmacy cause you can get into it nice and early (at least up here), how many people became chiropractors or podiatrists because they couldn't get into med school and how many become quack naturopaths from fly by night schools because they couldn't do any of the above ? how many people work at something like cost accounting for a metals factory ? do you think this was their childhood dream ? nah, they needed money and couldn't do any better. at what age should people be expected to deal with the truth ? ps i agree with that post you made about the teachers becoming administrators. anything to get away from the classroom...
