A few black eyes out there. . . Lucent restructuring again, fired their CEO, hired another, guided lower on 1st quarter fiscal 2001. . they should be opening at their 52 week low and may put in a new low today. . . I believe changing the CEO will be seen as a good move by the street, so I expect a rebound this week . . . Nortel is down in Europe slightly on this. .. . . .Cisco down about 2 points on Barrons Bash. . . Corning beat the street by a penny, but is trading down about a point-and-a-half in Europe. Usually when Corning beats the street, the fibre sector rallies. . . we'll have to wait for it to open to see what happens, but at this point. . CIEN is trading down about 1.50. . .optic related chips like PMCS and AMCC are trading down a few points. . . JDSU/SDLI are holding their own. . MRVC down about a point or so.

Nasdaq futures are holding down about 34 points indicating that we will gap down slightly. . .

RIMM being slammed by short-sellers in the pre-market. . .forcing down the price because they can.

On the flip side, ARBA is up sharply on several news items, one being the entry to the Nasdaq 100 on 10-27-00. Also selling their large stake in Softbank. WCOM, RBAK, RNWK and BVSN all looking up in pre-market trading.
