Depends on the winter. Last winter was super mild but I missed it because of my wife's accident. There's a power plant lake about 40 miles from here that stays open most winters and the river is usually starting the sauger run in February. Now I'm not saying fishing when the boat is turning white with snow is balmy but I've done it.
