JERSEY CITY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 23, 2000--Bel Fuse Inc. today announced the continuing expansion of its line of multistandard safety compliant surface mount transformers for G.Lite and ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line)-over-POTS (plain old telephone service) networks to include the Bel S560-6600-A6 magnetic module. This component integrates the magnetic hybrid transmit and receive transformers into one SMT package, and is specifically engineered to optimize the performance of AMD's AmDSL(TM) (AmDSL134 and AmDSL135) and Alcatel's DynaMiTe(TM) (MTK-20130, -20140 and -20150) driver ICs. Bel's new device is capable of assisting these chipsets facilitate full rate ADSL speeds of up to 8 Mbps downstream and 640 kbps upstream, and G.Lite ADSL speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps downstream and 512 kbps upstream over traditional copper-based networks.
Designed for central office (CO) applications, the transformer is suitable for Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) equipment, and may additionally be specified for use in remote switching locations that utilize a Digital Loop Carrier (DLC). Further, by integrating the magnetic hybrid transmit and receive functions in a 0.560 L x 0.555 W x 0.394 H (inches) SMT module, the S560-6600-A6 offers the utmost in PCB space savings, ease of board layout, and manufacturing efficiencies.
This integrated device is electrically equivalent to other discrete, single transformer devices, and continues to provide low insertion loss, good return loss and minimal crosstalk characteristics. Furthermore, the S560-6600-A6 device features 1500 Vrms isolation and operates across an extended operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C.
Bel's S560-6600-A6 integrated transformer is provided in a 10-pin configuration and priced at $1.57 each in quantities of 10,000. Delivery is from 6 to 8 weeks.
