idcc's downside was much a form of leverage as it was on the upside. it's fall had less to do with 3g properties. it had more to do with a few competitive sympathizers leveraging their assets to help bring it to this level relative to timing. licensing for 3g properties is no longer the issue; it's timing.

one instance is that the UK has specified 5mghz of unpaired (TDD) bands to be deployed by each of the major carriers there (five awarded 3g licenses, each with one TDD band). "Use it or Lose it"; TDD only bands. They are "TDD only bands" because the spectrum isn't fit for FDD, but works very well for planned TDD operations. Ubinetics/TXN and partners are working with Orange for said deployment. IDCC and NOK are to supply the "handset" form and structure properties. IDCC is developing NOK's entire "TDD suite" per their CEO, Marc Gersentstein. Japan is also setting aside specific TDD bands for product deployment. We see Siemens and NEC partnering to develop TDD specifics. Both are IDCC licensees
