Dan, Re: but it's pretty hard to say if the Apollo Pro 266 is otherwise equivalent to the 133 version, there may have been other things fixed on the way.

Yes, but a 12% Sysmark gain is a 12% gain. Remember that the Athlon has only one chipset right now: VIA KT133. And if the follow up is 12% faster in Sysmark I take it -- even if it is not due to DDR RAM but some other improvements. But realistic DDR will show much more of its potential on the Athlon, so I think 12% are conservative. The only reason why the P3 is faster in some benchmarks than the Athlon (clock for clock) is the inferior VIA chipsets. (and, of course, SSE optimization)

Anyway, the buzz sure seems to be building on the AMD 760 and Mustang. Are they supposed to be announced together?

My information suggests that AMD 760 will be launched up to two weeks earlier than Mustang. But keep in mind that there will also be "normal" Athlons with a 133 MHz FSB. I may sound too optimistic: But DDR, 133 MHz FSB and Mustang should each give up to a 10-15% gain over the current Athlon platform.
