Funny you mention the car business. I trade from my home and with a friend of mine who has a used car dealership. They've sold one car this month. I know other new and used car dealers and their businesses have also slowed it a hault. The area I live in is slowly dying economically. It's in Southern Virginia on the NC border, between Lynchburg and Greensboro. Mostly manfucturing. Largest employer is a goodyear airplane tire plant and a textile plant. Local economy hasn't been growing for years.
