"There are holes, but not gaping ones, IMO. I've talked with people about this and I argue that Evolution itself is undergoing evolution. There may be a missing "force" or tendency for self-organization that, as yet, has not been accurately described"

My problem with evolution and the theory of natural selection and all that stuff isn't so much with the theories themselves, but with the way the are generally taught or discussed in the mainstream.

I don't know how many nature shows I've watched where the narrator says something like:

"Evolution has thoughtfully provided the gazelle with sharply pointed horns with which to protect itself"

or

"The giraffe has evolved a long neck with which to graze among the higher branches of trees, showing once again that nature always finds a way"

These kinds of statements simply substitute "nature" or "evolution" for "God," there is no difference between saying that "nature" has provided the giraffe with a long neck and saying that "God" has provided the giraffe with a long neck.
