Morphocycles - Long Term View.. This was written during 1999.. Economy - According to the present-day Kondratieff wave which started in 1949 our Western Economy reached its peak around 1981 when inflation turned into deflation. 30 years of untamable growth now paves the way for economic selfdestruction. After inflating the balloon it's time to let out the air in order to survive. Right now we are in a transition phase: leaving "Prosperity" and entering "Deflation". The final stage of the Long Wave - Depression - will be devastating to our Western Economy. During this final chapter of the four economic seasons our sick economy can become healthy again by slimming. It will be painful but it's necessary to survive. The economic depression will last until approximately 2009/2011. Financial Markets - Completion of the present-day Dow Kitchin cycle which started in our view October 28, 1997 is projected around the end of 2000 or early 2001. This last bull market cycle within the Kondratieff wave is probably the biggest bubble ever created. After 2000/2001 it will burst and we'll experience bear market Kitchin cycles. This means inevitable stock market stumbles year after year causing a loss of confidence for stocks. So the next decade we won't see record territory again.
