Stu, I think you misunderstand Gilder's stance. Electrons will continue to rule the Microcosm while photons and radio waves will rule the Telecosm.

Within the Microcosm, you need interaction and electrons provide this quality. Within the Telecosm, you want to avoid interaction. Photons don't effect each other even when the collide. This is why you can put many wavelengths using either WDM or DWDM down one fiber simultaneously.

CY is involved with both electrons and photons. If you look back on this thread I've made several posts regarding the importance of CY's purchase of Silicon Light Machine (SLM). They not only operate in the Telecosm, they will allow CY to develop parts that bridge the two technologies. In their conference call CY announced they have struck a deal with NT to develop new parts including P/P, and devices for switching DWDM frequencies. I've also heard CY will develop a line of P/E products using SLM's GLV technology.

IMO, Gilder was right with this pick; maybe a little slow to recognize CY, but right none the less. Regards, pmcw
