Oh yes, now I remember. Not so awful. Not even remarkable. It should be understood by the Management that different threads have different personalities, and that a level of, shall we say, contentious behavior that may be tolerated in one place might not be in another. Oh God. What'll happen to the jokes thread? Extremely lewd stuff there, but no one minds. And if that's the case, why should SI care? I'd hate to see the whole site turn into something like inflight movies: so insistently inoffensive that they offend everyone. But must they now change the name of this thread? To, ummm..."Ask X"?
