Agilent Technologies and Netformx Announce Strategic Agreement to EnableComprehensive Solutions for Enterprise Network Implementation and Testing

Companies Promote Joint Solution to Address the Entire Network Implementation And Testing Cycle With the Netformx Product Suite and Agilent Advisor

PALO ALTO, Calif. and LOS GATOS, Calif., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) and Netformx Inc. have signed a strategic agreement to deliver a comprehensive software solution that lets network professionals effectively and efficiently plan, procure, deploy, test, maintain and manage an enterprise network.

"Today's alliance between Agilent and Netformx extends the common language for the network communications industry, from the manufacturers to the end-users, and from pre-deployment planning to post-deployment analysis," said David Flournoy, vice president of Netformx. "Combining the testing capabilities of Agilent Advisor with the features of the Netformx suite of products provides network designers with a powerful means to accomplish the complex and cumbersome tasks of planning, implementing and managing enterprise networks."

This agreement extends the capabilities of both Agilent and Netformx to provide an enterprise network solution that addresses all facets of network implementation -- from network discovery, design, and procurement, to network applications and services troubleshooting, monitoring and verification. Under the terms of the agreement, each company will be able to market the others' products to corporate networking customers.

The Netformx Enterprise AutoDiscovery interface provides Agilent Advisor users with detailed information on all existing devices, making it easy to identify the source of performance bottlenecks and to quickly assess needed modifications, upgrades or replacements. Once needs are identified, the user can reference the extensive Netformx Multivendor Device Library to quickly obtain manufacturer availability and interoperability information and easily validate the configuration, substantially reducing their research time and ensuring error-free equipment deployment.

"This agreement will result in increased effectiveness for network professionals, enabling them to reduce error rates on design and deployment and deliver better-performing, and more reliable networks to their enterprise customers," said Steve Witt, general manager of field service for Agilent's Network Systems Test Division.
